Address:

50 Prospect Park, Exeter EX4 6NA.

How to get here:

I work in private practice from my home at 50 Prospect Park, Exeter EX4 6NA. This is a quiet and pleasant road in the St. James area of Exeter, near the football ground and Exeter University. Prospect Park is located off the Old Tiverton Road, and is close to public transport. There is free off-street parking on the driveway.

Car:

Follow your sat nav to EX4 6NA (no. 50). I am about 3.5 miles or 13 minutes drive from the M5 (junction 29) and the A30; 1.7 miles or 7 minutes from the A377 (at Cowley Bridge Road); and 1 mile or 8 minutes from Exeter town centre. These driving times vary according to time of day. There is free off-street parking on the driveway.

Bus:

My house is less than a minute’s walk from the nearest E, F1 and F2 bus stop (ask for the stop on the Old Tiverton Rd, just after the garage, if coming from town; or opposite the garage if coming from the north towards town). Prospect Park is the next left after the garage when coming from town. The P and B buses also stop nearby.

Train:

My house is 5 minutes walk (0.2 miles) from St James train station, which is on the route from St David’s and Exeter Central to Exmouth. Other destinations served by St James are Barnstaple and Torquay/Paignton.

Walking from town:

My house is about 15 minutes walk from Exeter town centre (0.9 miles). Walk north along the High Street (past John Lewis on your left) onto Sidwell Street, until you pass the Tesco Express, Odeon cinema and Richer Sounds and enter the Old Tiverton Road. Keep walking until you pass a garage on your left and see the zebra crossing next to the play park. Prospect Park is just after the zebra crossing on your left, and my house (no. 50) is on the other side of the road soon after you enter Prospect Park. There are big trees in front of the house, which can be seen from the Old Tiverton Road.

Accessibility:

The room I use for counselling is on the ground floor of my house. There is a small step (11cm / 4.5″ high) to enter the house at the front. The front door and inside lobby door both have a clearance width of 73cm / 29″, and the counselling room door has a clearance width of 71cm / 28″. The toilet is also on the ground floor and the clearance is 57cm / 22.5″. There is a slightly raised wooden threshold between the counselling room and toilet.

I have extensive personal experience with hearing and visual impairments, and hold a BSL level 2 certificate. I also have training and personal and professional experience working with ADHD and ASD; and work sensitively with all neurodiverse clients, making adjustments where necessary.

Counselling sessions last one hour. I operate a tiered social justice payment model of £45 for those on lower incomes; £55 standard rate for those on average incomes; and £60 for those on higher incomes.
